The Platform
The C-130J-30 is the extended-fuselage variant of the C-130J Super Hercules, produced by Lockheed Martin. The stretched fuselage adds 4.57 metres (15 feet) of additional cabin length compared to the standard C-130J, providing significantly increased cargo volume and the space required for scientific payload integration, onboard researchers, and mission systems.

Platform Capabilities
Palletised Cargo Operations
The C-130J-30 can carry up to eight standard 463L military cargo pallets, providing substantial palletised cargo capacity for government, aerospace, and commercial freight operations. The rear ramp and door system enables rapid loading and unloading of palletised cargo at both prepared and austere airfields.
Oversized & Specialist Cargo
The large cargo hold and rear ramp configuration enables transportation of oversized, non-standard, and specialist cargo that cannot be accommodated on conventional freight aircraft. This includes aerospace hardware, ground support equipment, vehicles, and mission-specific equipment.
Scientific Payload Integration
The pressurised, extended cabin of the C-130J-30 provides the volume and structural capacity required for scientific payload integration. Austere & Remote Operations
The C-130J's rough-field capability enables operations from unpaved and austere airfields — supporting deployment to remote locations, field sites, and destinations inaccessible to conventional transport aircraft. This capability is essential for scientific field campaigns and remote logistics operations.
Extended Range & Endurance
With a range of approximately 6,852 km on maximum fuel, the C-130J-30 provides the range and endurance required for long-duration science missions, international deployment, and operations across the continental United States and beyond.
International Operations
